The NRCS conservation practice standard 657, Wetland Restoration, has been revised and is available for public comment through Wednesday, July 27.

This standard is being revised through the Standards Oversight Council EZ Process. This is being updated as part of the Wisconsin NRCS standards update process. Changes in the standard relate to design criteria when an embankment is a component of a wetland restoration. Clarification was incorporated regarding design criteria and applicable design standards.

Also included is the WI NRCS CPS 356, Dike standard. Wisconsin NRCS is adopting this standard because it is referenced int he revised WI NRCS 657.

Instructions to comment on standards: Submit your comments organized by section of the standard by Wednesday, July 27. Keep comments specific and directly related to the standard. Indicate the section you are referring to, for example, “Tributary Water Exclusion: Does this mean that…?” Respond in the same order as sections appear in the draft.
