The Wisconsin Standards Oversight Council is seeking public comment on the Wisconsin version of the NRCS Nutrient Management (590) Conservation Practice Standard. The draft can be found via this link, and a companion excel file that outlines some of the more notable changes between this updated version of 590 for Wisconsin and the current version (please note that this is not an exhaustive list) can be found here.
Please submit your comments via email to soc@wisconsinlandwater.org by midnight on Friday 16 January 2026.
A couple of items to consider:
- Keep comments specific, constructive and directly related to the technical standards.
- You may insert your comments into the Adobe PDF document or as a list of comments. If you opt for the latter approach, please indicate the line numbers to which your comments refer. If you have general comments applicable to an entire standard, please note them as such.
After the comment period closes, the WI 590 Standards Oversight Council team will consider all feedback while finalizing the practice standard language.
