Custodian:  WDNR

Goal:  This team will create a new technical standard that provides criteria for projects employing horizontal directional drilling (HDD). HDD is often used to avoid or minimize impacts to wetlands, waterways, roads, and other surface features. The standard will include procedures and practices to minimize potential for inadvertent releases associated with HDD and limiting the volume of fluid released if an IR does occur.

This team will examine existing research, consider new technologies, propose criteria, and consider input from expert and public review.

Initial Review:  September 2021

Anticipated Public Review:  late 2021

Anticipated Publication:  early 2022

Work Team Status:  This stakeholder team began meeting in October 2019. Meetings will be held approximately monthly until the standard is completed. Details on meetings, including agendas and meeting notes, will be available on the left side of this website as the work develops.
