SOC uses the Full Process for teams that are charged with developing a new technical standard or making major revisions to an existing standard. A major revision is defined as any revision to an existing technical standard that will significantly alter the planning criteria, performance expectations, or design parameters. The multiple steps defined in the Full Process to ensure consistency and accountability. A standard project using the Full Process will have a diverse team of technicians who will lead the drafting of the standard.
