New Team Forming – NRCS Stream Restoration Standard Updates

The WI Standards Oversight Council (SOC) is working with NRCS to form a stakeholder team charged with revisiting Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) WI conservation practice standards (CPS) related to stream restoration.

Notification for Assembling Technical Standard Work Team for Stream Restoration
NRCS and SOC are seeking volunteer technical experts to participate in updating an aggregate of four NRCS standards:  CPS 395 Stream Habitat Improvement and Management, CPS 580 Streambank and Shoreline Protection, CPS 582 Open Channel, and CPS 584 Channel Bed Stabilization.
Who Should Apply
SOC welcomes applications from all individuals with relevant experience in geology, fluvial geomorphology, hydrology, soil mechanics, biology, or related fields.  Individuals with experience constructing, designing, permitting, and/or studying these features are encouraged to apply.
How to Apply
Those interested in participating in the full team process should submit a completed application summarizing relevant experience.  Applications for consideration to participate on this stream restoration standard team are due to  soc@wisconsinlandwater.org by midnight Friday, February 14, 2020.
