The SOC 590 standard revision team is releasing the proposed revisions to the WI NRCS Standard 590, Nutrient Management, and the accompanying WI Conservation Planning Technical Note 1 for the second time from July 31 to Aug 31, 2015. Several sections were re-formatted to minimize redundancy and to clarify the intent of the language presented. Other revisions incorporate content changes to comply with the national NRCS Standard 590, Nutrient Management and from other Wisconsin stakeholders.
The draft documents below have incorporated comments from an initial review in October 2014 of 17 nutrient management experts, as well as from a previous broad review in March and April of 2015 which included comments from 40 entities. The most significant changes from the 1st broad review involve winter spreading prohibitions, the development of a Winter Spreading Plan, and various updates in Technical Note WI-1.
IMPORTANT REMINDER: Please review all definitions of italicized words to fully understand the intent of the standard language. All words that have definitions are italicized throughout the standard.
The draft documents will be open for comment from July 31 to August 31. Please submit comments following the instructions below.
